INFORMATION & ANNOUNCEMENTS:


Library: Track A 

PLC Wednesday: Meet in Classrooms @ 1:10 to discuss RtI. PLC ends at 2:20

Evacuation Drill: 10.19.23 @ 1:00pm

Bus Evacuation Drill on October 18th will impact those students' ability to eat breakfast. Please be aware that they might be late to class and allow them to finish eating. They will be excused for being late to class.

District Leadership Meeting: 10.18.23 Belinda is TIC

Westpark Students: Will be on campus Tuesday the 24th at 8:40-9:40.

Staff meeting: 10.19.23 @ 2:25 in the staffroom





Josh out: 10.17.23 attending kindergarten district PD.

DTM Sign up: At the beginning of the year it was mentioned that grade levels invite Josh, Richard and me to a DTM during your PLC. Please talk with your grade level teams and find a PLC where we can join you for your DTM meeting.CLICK HERE

Library Books: We have a small selection of graphic novels in your library.  Our goal is for students to engage and love to read whether that is a novel, graphic novel, non-fiction text, etc.  There are also many benefits of graphic novels for our English Learners and struggling readers.  These books will be remaining on all school library shelves and we are looking to purchase more to reach more students.

Here are some articles that discuss the importance of graphic novels if you are interested in reading.

Bathroom Logs: 3-5th grade please require students to log out and in for bathroom usage. Please double check logs for accuracy.  

*Volunteer Reminder:
  • Parents/Volunteers are not allowed to bring their children with them when volunteering on campus during school hours
  • Volunteers are not allowed to check-in to volunteer until 8am
  • Teachers, please keep the doors to the workroom closed at all times
*GATE: Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) identification testing for the 2024-2025 school year will be taking place in January 2024.  

The GATE identification test will be administered at your student’s school site and is available for students currently in 3rd – 7th grade. Students who sign up to take the GATE identification test will take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT), which tests abstract thinking and reasoning ability. 


*Bathroom Access: Please make sure that students understand they can use the bathroom during class. We understand that excessive bathroom use or using the bathroom right after recess is a challenge. Please communicate with families if it becomes a problem. What we want to avoid is any anxiety about not being able to use the bathroom.
