INFORMATION & ANNOUNCEMENTS:

PLC Wednesday: Meet in classrooms.

Library: Track B Starts on 9/12

Custodial Schedule: Track A

Staff Meeting: None this week

Voxer: Remember, voxer is used for better communication and support for the staff and students. We try to keep things light hearted and business centered. Please remember to keep opinions and frustrations out of the communication thread. Thank you for your support in keeping voxer a supportive tool for OR.

OTUS: Teachers should be also putting things in OTUS so that when kids are going on independent study, we have record of the assigned work an
d easily print out their completed work for district submission.

PTC Corner:
Room Parent and Art Docent: Please make sure you add in your Room Parent and Art Docent's name and email address to the sheets. They are separate Google Sheets. If you are having trouble finding a parent to fill that role, please mark it on the sheet.

TOSA TIPS: As tosa’s, our focus is on the effective math block. One of the key parts is the exit ticket. If I’m being honest, this was never my strong suit. So, I’m trying to make it easier for you. I pulled this directly from the math block template and wanted to highlight it for you. Using exit tickets is an effective way to see daily progress for your students. The ones who do not understand that day's lesson can then be pulled into a small group for more instruction. I hope this is something that you will try this year. If you need any help, please let me know.

Math lessons: Check for Understanding:  This is the lesson closure and can look and feel differently daily.  Regardless of the format, the focus should be on providing ways for students to reflect, grow, and check their own understanding. This check for understanding helps teachers see where students are in their learning and supports students to reflect on their understanding of the content.

For example, providing students with purposeful question stems will elicit thinking and reflection.  In an exit ticket format, students could also be asked to solve one problem on a sticky note and leave it on the corner of their desk.

Optional Templates

Library: Library leader applications are for grade 3-5. If students are interested, applications are available by the office boxes and are due 10/5.

*Lunch Numbers: Students should be practicing their lunch numbers. When the system goes does, we will have to use rosters.

*Log Entries in PS: Please try to document parent phone calls, emails attempts and interactions into powerschool. It really helps us when a parent calls to see the conversation you have with them or tried to have with them.

**Please remember to check the LIVE Google Calendar as dates/times are subject to change.
