This week's Binge Watching Recommendation "Frasier" is being brought to you by Crystal Lopes.
Music & Bing Watch: If you haven't shared your music and binge watching recommendations yet, please click HERE to do so.
Adjunct Duties: This list will be finalized next week. Remember, we aren't doing as much at this time, so the list will be much smaller than usual.
Voxer NORMS: Just a quick reminder. We have NORMS for voxer. Everyone has been doing well. I haven't, but you have.
- Orchard Ranch Thread is normal business hours and for school business and/or Emergencies.
- After Hours Thread is for anything funny and before and after normal school hours. This one allows people to mute notifications if they don't want to be distrurbed.
- Try to side vox individual needs if possible. i.e. custodial support. However, if you're just needing support from anyone, please use the Orchard Ranch thread.
Bell Schedule: Again, we need to make sure we are following the Bell Schedule. This message is what's being pushed out by my and the front office. If you deviate it makes it harder to support where/when needed. You should be having a "Check out" time at the end of the day so kids can end the day on a positive note with the class. The district is working on trying to figure out a way to make our lunch and recesses the same time to help families. This ultimately affects the specials. So it's a challenge. I will keep you updated.
Tech issues: If your parents ask for a replacement chromebook, they need to go through the district tech support process. Once they've done that, the DO will determine if we can swap it out. Please don't tell families that we will swap out their chrome. If they are needing support and stressed, as the teacher, please come talk to me or the office and we will examine the problem and let you know what to tell the parent.
OTUS email: RCSD kids accounts were originally built to protect kids from outside emails. This digital wall is currently being deconstructed. The DO is working on it. This is why not all of your kids are receiving your emails from OTUS.
Slow to go Fast: Please remember that we are working with families and kids in a brand new format that we are ALL learning. You have to go slow to go fast. Continue to take the time to build community, processes and relationships. Assessing too early may create some unneeded stress. Make sure you communicate weekly goals to families with regards to processes and expectations. Most of the emails I've received is because they "don't know". The goal is to move kids forward while NOT keeping them on the screen ALL day.
*Please always double-check with the OR Google Calendar as event may change.*
