Staff Meeting: May 2nd 2:35 in the staffroom

*Reminder: This is the time of year where weekly expectation revisits are beneficial. We want all kids to end the year strong and successful. They can do that with regular and deliberate conversations. 

Articulation: 
  • Directions will be sent out on Monday.
  • Final articulation is a little different this year. Your grade level will be meeting individually on the following dates.
Kinder makes 1st: May 3rd @ 1:10-1:40
1st makes 2nd: May 3rd @ 1:45-2:15
2nd makes 3rd: May 10th @ 1:10-1:40
3rd makes 4th: May 10th @ 1:45 - 2:15
4th makes 5th: May 17th @ 1:10 - 1:40

TOSA Corner: For this week, I am sharing The Benefits of Using Responsive Classroom Practices research with all of you to read through so we can start this journey understanding that it has been tested and shown to have positive outcomes for both teachers and students. 

On another note, please remember that even though we are at the end of the school year, we should still be reviewing our classroom expectations along with our recess expectations. Spring has Sprung for sure and I am noticing some behaviors escalating. The more we reteach, the better chance our students have of remembering and following our rules.





Sparkler Updates:
  • School Secretary Day (4/26): National School Secretary Day is next Wednesday! Sparkler will be giving them a gift card to their favorite place from the staff. Feel free to do something extra, go in on a grade level gift, or have your class create something for them. A BIG thank you to Rene, Karen and Michelle for all they do!!
  • End of the Year Party (6/2): Save the Date! Our end of the year party will be on June 2nd at 3pm. Thank you Richard for hosting!! More information to come.

PTC Updates:

The next PTC meeting is on May 23rd @6:30. Click here to sign up! 

  • 2023-2024 PTC Board: Congratulations to Heather McTaggart(President), Dave Kenitzer(Vice President), Michael Gonzales(Secretary), AJ McTaggart(Treasurer), Allison VanLeeuwen(Events), Beth Abel(Fundraising), and April Kenitzer(Communications) for being elected!

  • Yearbook Class Pages(due 4/21): Duane added any missing student/staff pictures into the yearbook. Please look over your page to verify that there are no missing student pictures or errors on your class page. Please mark on this document if you have any missing or any changes need to be made. If there are, he will come around and take missing portraits or make the changes ASAP. Today is the last day to finish up your class page. If you haven’t uploaded pictures please do ASAP!

  • Skate Night(4/24): Our next skate night is April 24th. PTC will cover the cost for any teacher who wants to attend. Please add your name to the date you will be attending so they know you're coming! The last one is on May 15th.

  • Staff Appreciation Happy Hour (5/4): PTC is putting on a staff appreciation happy hour on May 4th at 2:45pm. Stop by for some drinks and fork optional items on PTC. Please RSVP via the calendar invite by April 27th!!

  • Teacher Yearbook(due 5/5): PTC is purchasing yearbooks for teachers who want one. Please add your name HERE by May 5th if you would like one.

  • $100 Teacher Reimbursement(due 4/28): You have until next Friday to submit your $100 reimbursement for items purchased for your classroom. Teachers can fill out a paper copy and turn it into the PTC box or email a digital copy to Duane at orchardranchptc@gmail.com.
